Rensing from Sirohi district of Rajasthan, this breed has earned a reputation to be the best goat breed in Rajasthan due to its excellent meat quality, high fertility rate, and ability to flourish in dry and semi-dry climate.
Description
The Sirohi goat breed gets its name from its original place – Sirohi, a district in the southern part of Rajasthan. The region is known for its mountainous terrain, sparse vegetation and hot climate. Despite these challenging environmental conditions, Sirohi goats has fully adapted, making it a hard and reliable livestock option. Historically, the breed was reared by local rustic communities for both meat and milk. Over time, its strong anatomical structure and efficient feed conversion attracted attention from goat farmers across India.
Today, Sirohi Goats breed is famous not only in Rajasthan but also in other states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. In our farm, we continue this tradition by implementing modern reproduction practices.
